Helper molested 10-year-old girl while waking her up, Hong Kong court hears

Domestic helper denies four counts of indecent assault for allegedly molesting daughters of her former employer

A 10-year-old girl has told a Hong Kong court that a domestic helper inappropriately touched her when waking her up one morning.

Standing trial at Kowloon City Court on Wednesday, helper Lady Jay Santos Flores denied four counts of indecent assault for allegedly molesting the daughters of her former employer.

The younger daughter, who was not named in court and testified via video conference, said the helper came to her room on the morning of June 11, 2025, and lifted her blanket to wake her up.

The court also played a recording of her police interview, in which she said she had felt her buttocks being stroked multiple times.

“I got woken up after a few strokes. Then I made a sound ‘um’,” she said in the interview.

The girl said she then got out of bed and told her elder sister about the suspected molestation, only to find out that her sibling had allegedly had a similar experience in the past.

“My sister told me that the helper had done the same thing to her. I was quite surprised,” the girl said.
