Hailstorms are predicted to hit harder with climate change

The global likelihood of damage from hailstorms is predicted to increase substantially by the end of the century, owing to increases in hailstone size as the climate warms. However, regional differences are expected, with greater increases in hailstone size and damage in mid-latitudes and reductions in the tropics and subtropics.
