Gen V star was completely unaware of her surprise "cameo" in The Boys season 5 episode 6

Gen V star Maddie Phillips had no idea she was going to make an "appearance" in The Boys season 5 episode 6, either.

In The Boys season 5 episode 6, Annie and Hughie venture into the Democratic Church of America, where they find a wall containing photos of every psychic Supe in the entire world. Among that wall of photos is none other than dangerous psychic Cate Dunlap, who used her powers to aid Homelander in The Boys season 4 (and it's her psychic manipulation of Frenchie that makes Kimiko speak for the very first time).

"Had no idea that photo was gonna be there either mind u," Phillips tweeted. In an episode about psychic Supes, I think all of us fans were hoping Cate would show up. In terms of heroes who are powerful enough to defeat Homelander, Cate Dunlap is definitely up there in theory... though if her powers couldn't work on freaky ol' Godolkin, who had a super-enhanced form V1 running through his veins, they probably wouldn't be strong enough to work on Homelander.

After the Gen V season 2 finale set up The Boys season 5, we assumed they'd play a much bigger part in the final season, but so far no dice. We saw Marie and Jordan stop by in episode 7, only for Mother's Milk to remind us that Marie is powerful enough to stop Homelander and for Starlight to subsequently tell them to go home.

Despite the show's cancellation, showrunner Eric Kripke said that Gen V season 2 was "not the end" for Marie Moreau and co. and other Boys spin-offs "have the opportunity to absorb at least some of the Gen V gang, and that's very much by design."
