First Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred patch nerfs the Butcher, makes charms easier to find, and raises questions about "where a useless unique item could be transmuted"
The first substantial patch post-Lord of Hated rolls out on Diablo 4 in a couple of days, and Blizzard's revealed the long, long list of changes. Besides a cavalcade of minor bug fixes, we've got a number of quality-of-life improvements and tweaks across many aspects of the game, including to Talismans, War Plans, and plenty more.
An immediate stand-out in the patch notes is actually buried towards the bottom, in the endgame section. If you've been having real problems with the Burning Butcher, it turns out the odds were stacked against you. He's been debuffed substantially; he now has considerably less health, and one of his abilities has been toned down.

A problem where players were respawning in out-of-bounds areas has been remedied, something that no doubt inspired some extremely passionate feedback, and an issue involving repeating and overlapping NPC dialogue after you re-enter a room a number of times. My personal highlight is the change to a puzzle in the Path of Riddles that pointed to "Destruction" instead of "Corruption," tripping players up.
For War Plans, an infinite farming exploit in Nemesis Boss Lairs has been sewn up, and some unintended rewards are once again gated off as required. Many of the classes get their own sets of specific alterations and fixes, and there's a slew of other changes.
It's a solid slate that should make playing that much smoother for all involved. It goes live on May 13 - Butchers beware.
