Warner Bros. Pictures has released the trailer for the forthcoming horror film “Evil Dead Burn.” Directed by Sébastien Vaniček, the sixth installment in the “Evil Dead” franchise is slated to hit theaters on July 24.
Following 2013’s “Evil Dead” and 2023’s “Evil Dead Rise,” “Evil Dead Burn” is the third standalone entry into the franchise. Souheila Yacoub (“Dune: Part Two”), Hunter Doohan (“Wednesday,” “Daredevil: Born Again”), Luciane Buchanan (“The Night Agent”), Tandi Wright (“Pearl”) and George Pullar (“It Only Takes a Night”) are all set to star in the film.
“After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home,” the logline reads. “As one by one they are transformed into Deadites — turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell — she comes to discover that the vows she took in life… live on even in death.”

The grisly trailer begins with a mother at home interrupted by a knock at the door. The guest is revealed to be an undead corpse with chopped-off fingers and a car headrest through her skull. The car accident that caused the horrifying injury is later revealed, along with the Deadite zombie drinking burning candle wax and a painful encounter with a knife-filled dishwasher.
Sam Raimi first began the horror franchise with his 1981 director debut, “The Evil Dead,” which followed five friends in a cabin in the woods as they accidentally released horrifying demons. “Evil Dead II” came in 1987, followed by “Army of Darkness” in 1992.
Bruce Campbell originally starred in the initial film, and returns to executive produce alongside director Lee Cronin (“Evil Dead Rise”). Raimi produces alongside Rob Tapert under the Ghost House Pictures banner. The film is co-financed by New Line Cinema and Sony Pictures. Sony Pictures will handle international distribution through Columbia Pictures. The seventh installment in the “Evil Dead” franchise, “Evil Dead Wrath,” is already in development for 2028.
