Ambassadors of European countries were shown foreign-made components from Russian missiles and drones launched at Ukraine during the strike on the night of May 24.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The diplomats met with Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Office of the Prosecutor General.

"Representatives of European states were shown parts from Russian Zircon, Kalibr, and Kh-101 missiles, as well as Geran-2 drones, which Russia used to attack Ukraine on the night of May 24. They contained foreign-made components from Switzerland, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, and other countries, some of them manufactured this year. Separate circuit boards from the Oreshnik missile system were also shown, containing exclusively Russian and Belarusian components manufactured during 2004-2014," the statement said.

Vlasiuk stressed that efforts must focus on truly stopping the supply of parts reaching Russia. "This would deal a significant blow to Russia's defense production capabilities," he said.

According to the Presidential adviser on sanctions policy, it is also important to strengthen control over Belarus' access to foreign electronics. Some of the components found in Russian missiles were manufactured at the Integral plant in Minsk, including microchips and boards for cruise missiles and the Oreshnik system.

Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa called on European states to strengthen enforcement of existing sanctions and accelerate work on new sanctions packages.

"You know that Russia claims it is ready to launch more missiles against targets in Ukraine, especially in Kyiv. Everyone has seen the results. This is not about what they call 'decision-making centers'; it is about civilians and civilian casualties. They are incapable of carrying out such strikes on their own without assistance or an industrial base from other countries," he stressed.

The Ukrainian side also called on European partners to strengthen coordination in countering the shadow fleet. In particular, they urged partners to stop and seize vessels based on evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the Main Intelligence Directorate. Thanks to the shadow fleet, the aggressor state earned more than $101 billion in 2025, most of which was directed toward weapons production.

Participants in the meeting discussed the threats posed by Russia's shadow fleet to broader European security, particularly in terms of espionage, intelligence gathering, and environmental risks. According to Vlasiuk, the number of personal sanctions against ship captains and companies agreeing to work for Russia should be increased.

As Ukrinform reported, 92 people were injured and three killed in Kyiv as a result of the Russian attack on May 24. Around 300 sites in the city were damaged, including nearly 150 residential buildings. Overall, Russia used 90 missiles and 600 UAVs during that attack.
