Rising fuel costs have already prompted many airlines worldwide to raise ticket prices, passing the burden on to passengers. But as the crisis drags on and the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked, both Europe and Asia are now facing a severe fuel shortage that could lead to widespread flight cancellations ahead of the busy summer travel season.
