Doug Liman To Direct ‘Star One’ With Miles Teller & Eddie Redmayne — Cannes Market

Doug Liman has been set to direct Miles Teller and Eddie Redmayne in Star One, which Black Bear and CAA Media Finance are launching for the Cannes market.

Based on a true story, the film will follow “two mismatched CIA agents, one charismatic (Teller), the other strait-laced (Redmayne), who must work together to execute a top-secret mission: a treacherous journey across thousands of miles of enemy territory to covertly deliver arms.”

Script comes from David Coggeshall. P.J. van Sandwijk will produce for Storyteller Productions alongside Project X Entertainment’s William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein.

CAA is representing domestic. Black Bear is handling international.

Bourne and Edge Of Tomorrow director Liman is currently in production on thriller Bitcoin, with Casey Affleck, Pete Davidson and Gal Gadot.

The project has generated headlines for dramatically reducing its budget by using AI, including via actors using “markerless performative capture stages” and no location shooting.
