FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez applauded Disney for fighting against what she characterized as the Trump administration’s efforts to “punish and intimidate” the company and ABC through “the weaponization of the FCC’s authority as a federal regulator.”

Gomez, the only Democrat among the FCC’s three current commissioners, made the comments in a letter dated May 11 to Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro, who took over the top post in March. She cited actions by the FCC, run by Trump loyalist Brendan Carr, targeting ABC over viewpoints expressed by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and hosts of “The View.”
