When are Hercules and Phil coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Hercules and Phil are both being added in DDV’s June 3 update. They won’t join your valley right away, though, and instead will have to be unlocked by opening and exploring the Hercules Realm. This process will be similar to the experience of unlocking past duos, like Sadness and Joy, Lumiere and Cogsworth, and Lady and Tramp.
A Hero’s Journey update features in Disney Dreamlight Valley

As the name of this update hints, A Hero’s Journey is all about the world of Hercules. There’s plenty to look forward to in this update, so here’s a full breakdown of everything we know will be included.
- Two new characters – Hercules and Phil from the film Hercules are arriving as official valley villagers you can meet, befriend, and unlock. Hercules is the first unlockable character, while Phil will take a bit of extra convincing.
- New Realm – A new door will be available to unlock in this update, granting access to a Hercules-inspired Realm. It’s a training island owned by Phil, and as you venture deeper, you’ll also get to team up with Hercules to reach the gods’ territory.
- New quests – The process for unlocking Hercules and Phil involves some fresh missions. And, once you get them in your valley, there are plenty more tasks to tackle as you work on building your friendship with them.
- New villager house – The dynamic duo shares one home, so once you get them back in your valley, you can visit their shared residence to work on building your bond with them.
- New items – Both Hercules and Phil have a host of friendship rewards available for you to unlock as you progress through their missions. Some of these rewards include new battle attire and your very own satyr outfit to match with Phil.
- New Star Path event – Every new update comes with a fresh Star Path event to tackle. The name and theme of this one haven’t been revealed just yet, but some emoji teasers that were shared seem to indicate it might be Hercules-themed.
- New and possible rerun events – A fresh event focused on partaking in photo challenges has been teased. We may also see a rerun event or two, as this has been the case with past updates, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
There’s plenty to look forward to when the A Hero’s Journey update launches on June 3. While you wait, be sure to fully finish the Elements of Nature Star Path, as it’ll be ending when this update arrives. You’ll also want to complete all Treasure Hunt event duties and rewards, including tricky tasks like Fishing for Adventure, finding gold treasure cracks, and Expert Treasure Hunter, since this event only lasts for a couple of weeks.
