The number of victims of a Russian strike on Merefa in the Kharkiv region has risen to six.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Unfortunately, a 68-year-old man died in the hospital. Doctors did everything possible to save him, but the injuries were too severe. In total, six people have died in the city," the statement said.

According to him, the number of injured has increased to 31.

In particular, doctors treated a 2-year-old boy; his condition is satisfactory, and he will continue treatment on an outpatient basis.

Among those hospitalized is a 16-year-old boy.

All relevant services are working at the site of the attack, documenting damage and supporting the victims, Syniehubov added.

As reported, on the morning of May 4, Russia struck the premises of a service station in Merefa with a missile. Four people were killed at the scene, and another died shortly afterward in hospital. Earlier, 19 injured had been reported, four of them in serious condition.

The attack damaged residential buildings, outbuildings, shops, a food establishment, the service station premises, and vehicles. According to preliminary law enforcement data, Russian forces used an Iskander ballistic missile.
