A temporary ceasefire takes effect between Russia and Ukraine as President Putin oversees a military parade in Red Square, notably absent of the military hardware and technological might usually on display.

The Victory Day celebrations in Moscow have been scaled down over fears of Kyiv's increased ability to directly target officials and weapons of war. An 18-minute video was shown on big screens instead.

Frank Ledwidge is with me in the studio: Senior Lecturer in Strategy and Law at the University of Portsmouth, barrister, and former British military intelligence officer, having served in the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
