“Common Wealth,” a documentary filmed across eight countries probing alternatives to prevailing economic and political systems, will open in Australian and New Zealand cinemas on June 23. Madman Entertainment is releasing the film through its Garage Films division.
The project is the debut documentary feature from writer-director-presenter Kane Guglielmi, who frames his own journey through the film as that of a conservatively raised capitalist seeking greater prosperity beyond the models he grew up with. Guglielmi produced the film via his company Darkwood Entertainment. Academy Award winner Vanessa Redgrave is among those who appear in it. Guglielmi will undertake a promotional tour of more than 30 cities across Australia and New Zealand beginning on opening day.
