‘Cliffhanger’ Climbing To New U.S. Home With Neon’s Decal Label In Pole Position
What a cliffhanger this is turning out to be. The Cliffhanger reboot, which has been stuck on a ledge following Row K’s woes, is heading towards a new domestic home and that home could be Tom Quinn’s Neon.
Rumor on the street is that the film could be a prized title for a revamped version of Neon’s label Decal, which has acquired multiple films to date but nothing at this level. It’s understood that Row K would remain part of the film’s release.
Decal is the label that used to be run by Neon and Bleecker but the latter quietly divested last year. Should the pact go through it would mark an interesting new direction for one of the industry’s most respected and focused distributors, which to date has specialised in high-end arthouse and genre movies, many of which are awards darlings and/or break out at the box office.
