Subscribe to our newsletterToday is the one year anniversary of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a game that truly dominated the industry in 2025. Naturally, Sandfall Interactive took some time to mark the occasion, but while DLC hopefuls will be disappointed, there's a solid discount going on Steam at the minute for those who haven't tried it yet.
On Twitter, the official account mentioned the RPG's first birthday. "To celebrate the occasion, the team put together this piece of artwork that we hope you'll enjoy!" the studio tweeted, with an image of the main cast sitting down to have a birthday cake. Cute!

To celebrate the occasion, the team put together this piece of artwork that we hope you'll enjoy! ❤️🌹And if you know someone who wants to pick up the game, we're running a 20% sale right now on Steam!!… pic.twitter.com/oeqsbE8jPLApril 23, 2026
It's not the first time it's been reduced this much, but I wouldn't count on it going any lower any time soon. For comparison, Elden Ring's lowest price is still only 40% after four years, and Baldur's Gate 3's only gone down 25% thus far. If a game's popularity holds, there's no impetus to be loose with the pricetag.
In the replies, someone asks about getting an expansion or the studio announcing another game. "We won't be announcing any new major DLC or expansions for the game," replies the team. "But we will have cake and some other fun little announcements to celebrate our first anniversary together."
No more Clair Obscur, then. But I don't see any confirmation or denial on anything regarding Sandfall's next game. I doubt it'll be in one of these "fun little announcements," but Summer Game Fest is coming up. In the meantime, if you haven't tried Expedition 33, now is the time to give it a go.
