CinC Syrskyi, UK Chief of Defence Staff discuss frontline situation
According to Ukrinform, Syrskyi reported this on Facebook.
Syrskyi expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Charles III, the Government of the United Kingdom and the British people for their support and comprehensive military assistance to Ukraine.
“We highly appreciate the United Kingdom’s leadership within the UDCG – the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, its co-leadership in the Maritime Capability Coalition and the Drone Coalition, as well as its active participation in other capability coalitions supporting the development of Ukraine’s Defense Forces,” the Commander-in-Chief stressed.
He briefed his British counterpart on the current situation on the battlefield.
“The situation remains extremely difficult. The enemy has intensified offensive operations along nearly the entire line of contact. At the same time, Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to conduct active defense operations while seizing the strategic initiative. This enables us to exhaust the enemy, restore positions, and inflict maximum losses on Russian forces. Our key objective is to make every step of the occupier as costly as possible by leveraging intelligence, technology, and modern solutions where the enemy attempts to rely on manpower superiority,” Syrskyi emphasized.
According to him, Russian daily losses amount to at least 1,000 soldiers killed and wounded.
“Currently, the enemy is losing more personnel than it is capable of mobilizing and training,” he added.
Syrskyi also highlighted the role of modern technologies on the battlefield.
“Ground robotic systems and unmanned platforms are becoming one of the defining elements of modern warfare. Ukrainian troops already have experience conducting combat operations using exclusively robotic systems and drones without the direct involvement of personnel on positions,” the Commander-in-Chief noted.
The two sides also discussed Ukraine’s critical needs, primarily strengthening the protection of Ukraine’s skies.
