Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, held talks with the heads of the military committees of NATO and the European Union – Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone and General Seán Clancy – to discuss the Ukrainian military’s most urgent needs.

Syrskyi announced this on Facebook, as cited by Ukrinform.

According to Syrskyi, it is “highly symbolic” that the leaders of the military committees of the world’s two most powerful international security organizations are visiting Ukraine at the same time.

He expressed gratitude to both the EU and NATO for their unified support in strengthening Ukraine’s defense and protecting the free world.

Syrskyi briefed his counterparts on the current situation along the front line. Despite suffering heavy losses in personnel, weapons, and equipment, Russian forces continue their offensive operations, he said. To counter the enemy’s numerical advantage, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are relying on more advanced and adaptive tactics, forcing Russian troops into unfavorable conditions and delaying their objectives.

“For four consecutive months, our unmanned systems units alone have been eliminating more enemy personnel than Russia is able to mobilize,” Syrskyi noted.

He added that Ukrainian forces continue to strike key targets within Russia’s military-industrial complex and military infrastructure. The direct and indirect economic damage inflicted on the enemy is estimated at approximately $25.5 billion.

Syrskyi also outlined the military’s critical needs, stressing that air defense remains the top priority amid relentless enemy attacks.

He thanked the Alliance for coordinating allied support through the Priority Requirements List for Ukraine (PURL) initiative, as well as for the effective work of NATO’s Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU), which oversees daily coordination of military aid deliveries, logistics, and troop training.

The Commander-in-Chief also expressed appreciation to the European Union for training more than 90,000 Ukrainian service members under the EU Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM), emphasizing the importance of continuing professional training with the involvement of foreign instructors.

“I am convinced that cooperation with the European Union and NATO is strategically important both for Ukraine and for our partners. Together, we are strengthening security and laying the foundation for a stable and peaceful future,” Syrskyi said.

As previously reported, Syrskyi also took part in a meeting of commanders-in-chief and chiefs of general staff from the Coalition of the Willing countries, where security guarantees for Ukraine were discussed.
