It's been rough going these last few years for Bloodborne fans, with hopes for a remake or remaster repeatedly dashed and, with the recent closure of Demon's Souls remake studio Bluepoint Games, buried six feet underground. That said, the recently revealed Bloodborne animated movie is a moment to "celebrate a win," in the words of YouTuber Seán "Jacksepticeye" McLoughlin, who's producing the flick.

The sting of Bluepoint's closure was made all the more bitter when a report surfaced in February claiming the studio had pitched FromSoftware a Bloodborne remake, but was turned down. The game studio is known for its excellent remakes and remasters, and Bloodborne seems such a natural fit after the success of Demon's Souls on PS5, but alas, for now we'll have to settle for the animated adaptation. We still don't know much about it beyond McLoughlin's involvement, but the YouTube creator is nonetheless grateful that there's movement in the IP at all.
