Bilt Rent Day (May 1): Up to a 100% transfer bonus, win a $2,500 styling session in New York City and more

Bilt launches special promotions on or around the first of each month. For this upcoming Bilt Rent Day, members can enjoy a status-based Avios (British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia) transfer bonus of 40% to 75%. Plus, Bilt members can use $150 of Bilt Cash* to unlock a higher transfer bonus of up to 100%.

As on previous Rent Days, Bilt cardholders can snag double points for nonrent purchases (up to 1,000 bonus Bilt Points) and play the "Rent Free" game.

Here's what you need to know about the Bilt Rent Day promotions for May.

Status-based transfer bonus

You can normally transfer Bilt points to Avios at a 1:1 ratio, but here's how the May 1 transfer bonus to British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia breaks down based on Bilt status:

Blue: 40% bonus
Silver: 50% bonus
Gold: 60% bonus
Platinum: 75% bonus

However, only the first 100,000 Bilt points you transfer on May 1 are eligible for the bonus.

Bilt members can redeem $150 of Bilt Cash to enjoy the transfer bonus of the next-highest tier. Plus, Bilt Platinum members can redeem $150 of Bilt Cash to get a 100% transfer bonus. This will only make sense to do, though, when transferring enough Bilt points to recoup the cost of the Bilt Cash you'd be redeeming.

TPG's April 2026 valuations value Bilt points at 2.2 cents each and Avios at 1.4 cents each. As such, you would only come out ahead with a transfer bonus of 60% or higher, based on our valuations — and that's ignoring any Bilt Cash that you redeem to unlock a higher transfer bonus.

Of course, it's possible to get more than 1.4 cents per Avios. For example, I've recently gotten good value when redeeming Avios for flights within Europe, such as from Amsterdam to London. But be sure to have a redemption you want to book and do the math before transferring Bilt points during this transfer bonus.

Extra points on nonrent purchases

As on previous Bilt Rent Days, you'll earn double points from May 1 at midnight EDT until May 2 at 2:59 a.m. EDT when you use your Bilt card to make nonhousing purchases. You'll earn as follows for purchases with your Bilt card each Rent Day:

Bilt Blue Card (see rates and fees): 2 points per dollar spent on everyday purchases (regularly 1 point per dollar), up to 1,000 bonus points
Bilt Obsidian Card (see rates and fees): 6 points per dollar spent on your selected category of dining or groceries (regularly 3 points per dollar; grocery has a $25,000 spending cap annually, then 1 point per dollar), 4 points per dollar spent on travel (regularly 2 points per dollar) and 2 points per dollar spent on other everyday purchases (regularly 1 point per dollar), up to 1,000 bonus points
Bilt Palladium Card (see rates and fees): 4 points per dollar spent on everyday purchases (regularly 2 points per dollar), up to 1,000 bonus points

'Rent Free' game

In August 2023, Bilt launched a new way to win free rent (up to $2,500) for a month: the "Rent Free" game show. Bilt has since offered the "Rent Free" game show each Rent Day, with a new creator or personality taking the stage each month. This month's guest is actor Anne Hathaway.

You can visit the Bilt app to play the game between April 27 at noon EDT and May 1 at 3 p.m. EDT. Then, return to the app after May 1 at 4 p.m. EDT to see your score.

You'll earn points by matching your answers in the game show with the celebrity guest's. The top 10 winners will have their rent paid for a month (up to $2,500). Plus, Bilt will add an additional rent winner for every answer Hathaway gets correct. The next 100 winners will earn 1,000 Bilt points, while the next 500 winners after that will earn 100 points.

Earn 10 points per dollar spent on home delivery

Bilt members will earn 10 points per dollar spent on home delivery orders placed between April 27 at 9 a.m. EDT and May 2 at 3 a.m. EDT. This is a much higher earning rate than the standard 1 point per dollar.

Receive 500 points for linking your Rakuten account

Select members can earn 500 Bilt points for linking their Rakuten account to their Bilt account on May 1. Check your Bilt account to see if you're targeted for this offer.

Member screenings of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'

Bilt members can buy tickets to exclusive screenings of "The Devil Wears Prada 2" at Alamo Drafthouse theaters in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and Austin on May 1 (the movie's premiere night). Tickets cost 1,500 points per person, and each member can buy up to four tickets. Each ticket includes admission to the screening, plus food and beverages.

Tickets go on sale April 28 at 11:50 a.m. EDT for Platinum and Gold Bilt members and at noon EDT for other members.

Comedy shows

Bilt is offering comedy shows at 17 venues across 12 cities throughout May. Each Bilt member can buy up to four tickets, with bookings opening April 28 at 11:50 a.m. EDT for Platinum and Gold Bilt members and at noon EDT for other members.

The May comedy show lineup includes some comedy club experiences, which cost $30 to $40 or 2,000 to 2,500 Bilt points per person and include two drinks. However, the lineup also includes bespoke comedy experiences at premium venues, priced at $75 or 5,000 Bilt points per person, with drinks and light bites included. You can apply up to $50 of Bilt Cash to one comedy experience (the remainder must be paid in cash).

Bookings close when reservations sell out or at 3 p.m. EDT the day of each show, whichever occurs first.

Dining experiences

Bilt is offering its Neighborhood Dining experiences at 41 restaurants in seven cities on May 1.

Each dining experience costs $35 to $75 or 2,500 to 4,000 Bilt points per person and includes a three- to four-course tasting menu or omakase, depending on the venue. You can also add a drink package during booking for meals at select venues. You can apply up to $50 of Bilt Cash to one dining experience (the remainder must be paid in cash).

Each Bilt member can buy up to four seats; bookings open April 28 at 11:50 a.m. EDT for Platinum and Gold Bilt members and at noon EDT for other members. Bookings close when reservations sell out or April 30 at 5 p.m. EDT, whichever occurs first.

Fitness experiences

One of Bilt Rent Day's most popular aspects for many members is the complimentary Rent Day fitness classes. Bilt members can book complimentary May 1 SoulCycle and Barry's classes for this Rent Day. Specifically, 875 bikes are available for Rent Day SoulCycle classes, and 520 spots are available for Barry's Rent Day classes.

Bookings for these experiences become available April 28 at 11:50 a.m. EDT for Platinum and Gold members and at noon EDT for other members. However, once you book a Rent Day fitness class, you can't cancel and will face a fee if you don't attend. Bookings close April 30 at 7 p.m. EDT or when they sell out, whichever occurs first.

Bilt Neighborhood Cafe food truck

Bilt is hosting another Neighborhood Cafe outside its new New York City headquarters at 837 Washington St. on May 1.

Bilt members can stop by the food truck at this location between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. EDT on May 1 and collect a complimentary temaki and green tea "yuzu-ade" from Nami Nori while supplies last.
