Spinoff Comedy to Debut This Summer with Star-Studded Creative Team

The highly anticipated Big Bang Theory spinoff Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is set to premiere this July on HBO Max, the streaming platform announced Sunday during the show's panel at CCXP Mexico City. The original series theme will be composed by Emmy and Grammy award winner and Oscar nominee Danny Elfman, marking another high-profile addition to the project's creative roster.

The comedy centers on Stuart Bloom (portrayed by Kevin Sussman), the fan-favorite comic book store owner whose accidental destruction of a device created by Sheldon and Leonard inadvertently triggers a multiversal catastrophe. Tasked with restoring reality, Stuart embarks on a desperate mission alongside his girlfriend Denise, his geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist Barry Kripke—a character known for his difficult personality. Throughout their journey, the team encounters alternate-universe iterations of beloved characters from the original series.

The ensemble cast includes Lauren Lapkus, John Ross Bowie, and Brian Posehn, among others. As suggested by the show's title, Stuart's efforts to save the universe prove anything but successful, setting the stage for comedic chaos across multiple realities.

First-look promotional photographs from the series were unveiled during the announcement, offering audiences their first glimpses into the spinoff's aesthetic and tone.
