Best Forza Horizon 6 assists for controller
Getting your Forza Horizon 6 assists right is crucial to improving both how the game feels and your racing technique. While some players will absolutely benefit from having most of these assists on, helping with things like steering and braking, they can be very restrictive if you're trying to race competitively in Forza Horizon 6. I've put many hours into the Forza Horizon games over the years, and here are the assists I recommend using if you're playing Forza Horizon 6 using a controller, geared for giving you maximum control over your car without overcomplicating things.
Best assists for Forza Horizon 6
To change your FH6 assists, you need to open the Difficulty menu, which can be done either by pressing X on the game's main menu or by pausing the game to open the 'Campaign' menu, then selecting 'Settings', followed by 'Difficulty':
- Drivatar Difficulty: Start on Average and see how you get on. If you win consecutive races, the game will offer to bump the difficulty up a level or two to provide more of challenge and more Credits.
- Braking: Anti-Lock On
- Steering: Simulation
- Traction Control: On
- Stability Control: Off
- Shifting: Automatic
With these Forza Horizon 6 assists, you'll be getting 25% more Credits thanks to the difficulty bonus, and you can increase this substantially by upping the Drivatar Difficulty and switching to Manual Shifting - more Credits means more cars to buy from the Forza Horizon 6 car list!
The rest of the assists are cosmetic only and don't affect your Credit payouts, so you can set this however you want. New players should keep Driving Line on full, set Damage & Tyre Wear to None or Cosmetic, and keep both Rewind and Launch Control on.
Finally, while it's not an assist, I'd also highly recommend switching the Graphics Mode to Performance rather than Quality for an increased frame rate, found under the Video sub-menu of the Settings menu. Despite a drop in visual quality, I find that the smoother picture makes things easier for you in pretty much every way, especially driving at high speed.
