Best 007 First Light graphics settings for no lag and max FPS

007 First Light is now out in early access, and while the general performance appears to be satisfactory so far, I have encountered some mini stutters. Thankfully, it looks like I found a great settings balance to keep the gameplay smooth.

Best 007 First Light graphics settings

Here’s a quick rundown of my current specifications before I dive into the best settings.

  • 32 GB of DDR4 RAM
  • AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB
  • AMD Ryzen 5700X

My specifications are comfortably above the recommended requirements, so I was able to experiment a bit. I have focused on a set of slider values that will allow the relatively lighter rigs to run the game without any issues.

  • Resolution: Go with 1920×1080, as most underpowered PCs won’t render 2K properly. It’s always best to go with the native resolution of your monitor.
  • Display Mode: Fullscreen
  • V-Sync: On (If you keep this on, it will limit the FPS. However, it will also generate smoother results since there should be less screen tearing).
  • V-Sync Interval: Go with the default
  • Transfer function: sRGB
  • Gamma Correction: 100
  • DLSS: Yes, if applicable. If you have an older device, focus on performance. The aim is to get better performance. The same logic also applies to AMD FSR.
  • Texture Quality: Medium
  • Texture Filter: Trilinear
  • Level of Detail: Medium (if you still struggle, go with Low)
  • Terrain quality: Medium (Go with Low if there are lags)
  • Shadow quality: Low
  • Volumetric fog quality: Low
  • Volumetric effects quality: Low
  • Global illumination quality: Medium
  • Reflection quality: Low
  • Motion blur: Off
  • Fullscreen blur effects: Off
  • Radial blur effects: Off
  • Wobble distortion effects: on
  • Film grain effects: Off
  • Chromatic aberration effects: Off

I have considered older devices more when going for the settings mentioned. I am personally going with High on all, but only after enabling FSR on my system. It’s best to focus on performance as of writing. Things can, and should, change once I/O drops a few post-launch patches.

That said, I like the general optimization on the PC version. It has its rough edges and corners, but the overall performance has been pretty satisfactory in the early hours.
