Bad Bunny arrives in Barcelona as Spain's biggest tour of the year gets under way
The Puerto Rican artist kicks off his 'Debí tirar más fotos world tour' this Friday at the Estadi Olímpic, with tickets from €73 and over 600,000 spectators expected nationwide.
Benito is already in Barcelona. Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny was spotted on Wednesday going in and out of his hotel in the city centre, sending his fans into a frenzy after they had managed to track him down thanks to a video that went viral on social media. 'Benito! Look at him, look at him!' the young fans gathered by the van taking him back to the hotel could be heard shouting.
The artist's presence confirms what his fans have been waiting for for weeks: this Friday 22 May he will kick off at the Estadi Olímpic Lluis Companys the first Spanish stop on his Debí tirar más fotos World Tour, the tour showcasing his sixth studio album. On Saturday 23 he will play a second night at the same venue before the entourage heads to Lisbon and, from there, on to Madrid.
In the capital, Bad Bunny has 10 shows booked at the Civitas Metropolitano between 30 May and 15 June, making him the artist to play the most consecutive nights at the stadium. In all, more than 600,000 tickets have been sold in Spain.
How much did it cost to see him?
The cheapest tickets started at €73.30 plus fees for the furthest seats in the stands, while standing or 'gold circle' areas were around €143 before charges.
At the other end of the scale, the most exclusive VIP package, including access to a private lounge, came in well above €500 plus fees. During the first hours of the presale, the official channels LiveNation and Ticketmaster crashed, and the general sale cleared the first price categories in a matter of hours.
Bad Bunny's visit also coincides with the launch this Thursday of his clothing line Benito Antonio for Zara, from the same Spanish brand that dressed him for the half-time show at the last Super Bowl.
Pope Leo XIV will also pack Madrid
The tour's economic impact will be felt particularly in Madrid during the first week of June, when the concerts overlap with the visit of Pope Leo XIV. The Madrid Hotel Business Association forecasts average occupancy of 81.9% in hotels across the region between 5 and 9 June, peaking at 87% on Saturday 6. Most visitors are expected to be from abroad: 58.5% compared with 41.5% domestic, with the United States, France and the United Kingdom as the main source markets.
