Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos says authorities have gotten closer to solving the suspected abduction of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie.

Nanos, who is leading the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s suspected abduction from her Arizona home on February 1, was approached by Fox News outside his department on Saturday.

When asked if they were close to solving the case, Nanos replied, “We are,” without elaborating. The Independent has contacted the Pima County Sheriff’s Office for comment.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, disappeared from her Tucson-area home nearly 100 days ago in what authorities believe was an abduction. Drops of her blood were found at the home, as well as her phone and the heart medication she needs to take daily.

However, the case has not had an update in several weeks. Authorities and Nancy Guthrie’s family have offered a reward of more than $1.2 million for information to solve the case.

On Sunday, Savannah Guthrie shared a heartfelt montage featuring videos and photos of her missing mother on Instagram.

“Mother, daughter, sister, Nonie — we miss you with every breath. We will never stop looking for you. We will not be at peace until we find you,” she wrote with the montage.

She then urged the public to come forward if they had information about her mother’s disappearance.

“We need help. Someone knows something that can make the difference. Call 1800CALLFBI. You can be anonymous and the reward remains available,” she wrote.

“Please keep praying. Bring her home,” she concluded the post.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her home near Tucson, Arizona, on February 1, after she failed to attend a virtual church service at a friend’s house, authorities said. She had been seen the night before after having dinner with her daughter, Annie Guthrie.

While authorities say they believe Nancy Guthrie was taken against her will, they have not shared a motive in the case. No suspect has been identified in the case, and there is no evidence pointing to whether Guthrie is still alive.
