Are you eligible for a share of Apple’s $250M new Siri settlement?

We reported earlier this week that Apple had reached a $250 million settlement over delays to the introduction of the new Siri features.

Payouts to eligible iPhone buyers won’t be automatic, so you need to understand whether you’re one of them and be ready to act within a 90-day window …

Not even the most ardent Apple supporter could deny that the launch of the new Siri was a mess. In summarizing the situation yesterday, I noted that the company had advertised new Siri features as if they were imminent way back in 2024 and then had to admit that they very much weren’t. We’re still waiting today.

That saw the company hit with a lawsuit over “false advertising,” and the company this week reached a settlement. As we reported, that will see eligible iPhone owners receive a payout somewhere in the range of $25 to $95 per device.

However, it’s important to note that you won’t receive an automatic payout: instead, you’ll have to file a claim. Once the claim window opens, you will have 90 days in which to do so.

CNET summarized how the process will work, and the anticipated timings. First, you are eligible if you purchased one of the following iPhone models between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025:

• iPhone 15 Pro 
• iPhone 15 Pro Max
• iPhone 16 
• iPhone 16E 
• iPhone 16 Plus 
• iPhone 16 Pro 
• iPhone 16 Pro Max 

Although Apple hadn’t made its new Siri promises at the time the iPhone 15 lineup was launched, owners of the Pro models are eligible because those devices are still capable of running the new features. In other words, the promises Apple made applied to those customers too.

Here are the anticipated timings, though they are approximate for now:

• June 17, 2026: Settlement approval expected
• June 22, 2026: Apple must identify eligible customers
• August 7, 2026: Apple must notify customers that they are entitled to a payout
• November 6, 2026: You must file your claim by visiting the settlement website

Note that the settlement website doesn’t yet exist, so there’s nothing for you to do right now. The important takeaway here is that once Apple notifies you of your entitlement, you have 90 days to make your claim using the link the company will send to you.
