Apple TV is about to have two highly acclaimed new comedies airing at once
Apple TV recently debuted one of its best-reviewed series of the year in Margo’s Got Money Troubles, and now another new comedy is about to premiere that’s also highly acclaimed—with more coming.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Widow’s Bay offer two unique, beloved comedy series

Starting this week, Apple TV will have two top-tier new comedy series airing new episodes every Wednesday (technically Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m. ET).
Margo’s Got Money Troubles premiered earlier this month to significant critical acclaim.
The series, which is based on Rufi Thorpe’s hit novel, has an impressive 96% Rotten Tomatoes score from over 50 critic reviews.
Elle Fanning stars alongside Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, Nicole Kidman, and more. Four episodes are available now, with weekly releases continuing through May 20.

And this week, Apple has another acclaimed, but very different comedy series debuting.
Widow’s Bay premieres this Wednesday, April 29 with two episodes, then weekly releases through June 17.
The mysteriously twisted, genre-bending show combines comedy with horror, thriller, and character drama. It’s a combination that really shouldn’t work, except critics enthusiastically say it does.
So far with 15 reviews, Widow’s Bay has a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score.
Matthew Rhys stars in the series, which is from creator Katie Dippold (Parks and Recreation). Rhys plays the mayor of a small New England town that might be cursed.
New and returning Apple TV comedies coming soon

Looking beyond Apple’s current offerings, there are several other upcoming premieres for new and returning comedies happening soon.
Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed is coming May 20 as a dark comedy-thriller starring Tatiana Maslany (‘Orphan Black’) and Jake Johnson (‘New Girl’). The latest trailer arrived today and leans more into the thriller vibes, but with an overall comedic undertone.
Looking further out, Ted Lasso is returning this summer for season 4. Apple hasn’t confirmed a specific release date yet, but star Hannah Waddingham said it’s coming in August.
There’s also a new movie called The Dink premiering in July. It’s a pickleball comedy starring Jake Johnson, Mary Steenburgen, and Ed Harris.
