All Weapon Evolutions in Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors

A vampire holds up a goblet with a red substance inside. His eyes glow menacingly. He stands in front of a castle and a full moon. Some bats are hanging out in the back.

Developer Poncle has returned with the follow-up to Vampire Survivors, and this time it's a card-battling dungeon crawler! Vampire Crawlers will feel both incredibly familiar to fans, while being an entirely different kind of game.

This guide will help you remember how to acquire evolutions, as well as go in-depth on what's needed to form them.

How to Evolve Weapons

While the idea of putting two specific cards together to evolve them is similar to mechanics in Vampire Survivors, the process of getting that evolution is a bit different. For starters, you need to have both the cards required in an evolution, not a gem. This can be a bit confusing at first; some defense cards and stat cards share icons and abilities with gems that can be inserted into any card. For example, putting an Armor Gem into a card is not the same as having an Armor card for evolution. However, placing a gem onto one of your cards makes it ineligible for evolution, so consider carefully where you put your gems.

To create an evolution, you first need the prerequisite cards in your deck. The chart below shows you the card combinations. Once you have them, you'll need to find either a treasure chest or a statue in the level. Breaking the right kind of statue will reveal a red orb, which will grant an evolution if you have the correct cards. Otherwise, you'll have to pick from a different set of rewards. The same goes for treasure chests; opening one without a combination will only grant you powerful gem rewards. They're not bad, they're just not evolutions. Once you meet the requirements and find the red orb in a chest or statue, you'll be able to select what cards you want to use for an evolution.

Three cards are available to select from an opened treasure box.

Note that some passives and stat-boost cards have multiple "tiers." For example, there is Armor, Golden Armor, and Rainbow Armor. Each card is stronger than the last, but any can be used for the evolutions. However, using Rainbow Armor does not make the Runetracer evolution any stronger than using a normal Armor. Avoid using these better versions in your evolution unless it's absolutely necessary.
