After 2 years in Steam Early Access and almost 2 million copies sold, ARPG No Rest for the Wicked is "not slowing down" on its way to 1.0

No Rest for the Wicked might be taking its sweet time in Steam Early Access, but developer Moon Studios promises that it's still working hard to get the game to its eventual 1.0 goal.

Two full years have now passed since the studio behind Ori and the Blind Forest put its gorgeous, painterly action game into Early Access. The developer is now celebrating the massive milestone with a new blog post hinting toward the future.

"It's been TWO YEARS since No Rest for the Wicked entered Early Access," the studio writes. "Since then, this game has grown and evolved in ways we could only pull off because of you." Moon Studio also reveals No Rest for the Wicked has sold 1.7 million copies in that time.

"You've supported us, challenged us, and pushed us to do better. That's exactly how we like it," the dev adds before turning its gaze to the finish line. "No big speeches today. Just this: we're building something special here, and we're not slowing down... Two years of celebrating you in all the Wicked ways! Thanks for being part of it."

While the developer didn't announce anything concrete for the game's second anniversary, it did once again tease a port for systems other than PC: "We're hard at work toward 1.0. And console players, we haven't forgotten you."

A PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo port of the game has always been a possibility, but it's been looking ever more likely in recent months. Earlier this year, CEO and creative director Thomas Mahler posted, and then quickly deleted, a video of No Rest for the Wicked running on Switch 2. Should a console port be incoming, then a 1.0 would be as well since Nintendo and Sony don't currently allow for Early Access games on their platforms.
