‘Adolescence’ Makes BAFTA History By Scooping Record Number Of TV Awards
Adolescence‘s sensational awards season has ended in a final night of triumph at the BAFTA TV Awards.
Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne’s series about a teenager radicalized by the manosphere won four awards at the BAFTA ceremony on Sunday night.
Graham won Best Leading Actor, his first-ever BAFTA acting prize, while Owen Cooper and Christine Tremarco took home Supporting Actor prizes.
Adolescence also won best Limited Drama, with executive producer Mark Herbert thanking Graham and Thorne for a script that “ripped out our hearts and punched us in the gut.”
The haul made Adolescence the most garlanded series ever at the main BAFTA TV Awards. No show has ever won more than three awards in a single night at the ceremony, putting Adolescence ahead of esteemed company, including Killing Eve and Happy Valley.

Adolescence has been so imperious at the Emmys and Golden Globes that it would have been a huge upset had the show not performed well at the BAFTA TV Awards.
The BAFTA TV Awards were hosted by Taskmaster presenter Greg Davies at the Royal Festival Hall in London. The full list of winners is here. It was BAFTA’s first televised event since the Film Awards, which will be remembered for broadcasting Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson’s racial slurs.
