A petition called 'Lebanon will not be the next Gaza' calls on French leaders to take action Middle East

As France's President Emmanuel Macron is seen as a key guarantor of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, civil society actors have launched a petition titled 'Lebanon will not be the next Gaza', calling on him to act. The initiative has been signed by numerous French public figures. Marie Yared, Senior Global Campaigner at the Avaaz Foundation, explains that the petition comes amid concerns that last year’s ceasefire was repeatedly violated by Israel, and urges European leaders to ensure the current truce holds to avoid a repeat of what happened in Gaza.
